Tracklings
Tracklings is our iPhone app which allows a group of people participating in a specific outdoor event to stay connected with each other by sharing their location info.
It helps you organize an event by sharing your location with other people. Unlike simple "I am here" applications, Tracklings gives you full control of who participates and who and when can see your location and status updates. Everything is based on an event - different participants can be invited to separate events.
Create events on the fly - just a few touches starts an event. Invite participants from your contact list and you are all set! Close the event when no longer needed. Your position is shared only by other participants in the same event and only while you choose to be active within that event (even when Tracklings runs in the background). You always know who else is active!
Tracklings allows up to 5 participants (including the organizer) in an event. Events expire automatically after three days unless closed by the organizer. Invitations can be sent via SMS or e-mail. Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (wi-fi location services only on non-GPS devices).
Unlike other position based apps, Tracklings won't suck out your iPhones battery. Simply say how often you want to send your location update to others and save precious battery life. Tracklings can run in the background for a whole day without you even noticing increase of your iPhone's energy consumption.
